Ashburn Elite Athletes Win 28 Medals at the 2017 AAU Indoor National Championship
Ashburn Elite Athletes brought home 28 medals at the AAU Indoor Track National Championship on March 10-12. Over 1700 of the top track and field athletes from across the United States and Canada participated in the meet, making it the largest Indoor National Championship in AAU History.
Amongst strong competition from both the United States and Canada, Ashburn Elite athletes medaled in short, mid and long distance running events, as well as hurdles, long jump, triple jump, high jump, shot put, and relays. The team was lead by Layla, Chris, Christian and Kaitlyn who all earned 3 medals.
The following athletes medaled in the meet:
Layla - 60m, 200m & 400m
Chris - Hurdles, Long Jump & 4 x400
Christian - Hurdles, Long Jump & 4 x400
Kaitlyn - High Jump, Triple Jump & 4 x 400
Bryce - 3000m & 800m
Dahlia - 4x 400 & 1500m
TJ Taiwo - Hurdles
Raven - 1500m
Olivia - 4 x 400
Lester - Triple Jump
Kaylee - Long Jump
Jucenia - Shot Put
Jonathan - 3000m
Jaden - 4 x 400 Relay
